Wat Thammikarat The Lion Temple, Ayutthaya, Thailand

Wat Thammikarat is known as the lion temple in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The old city is full of ruins from the 8th century. Recent digs have uncovered a great elephant bone dated to one of the Burmese invasions. The mighty beast fell in battle defending Ayutthaya, the Invincible. These temple ruins are very beautiful and there are many dogs who take refuge here. You can adopt a dog at this temple. A UNESCO World Heritage Site.
